If you want to learn Bulgarian from a basic level, there is an official online platform with a Bulgarian as a Foreign Language course for levels A1 and A2.
The resource was developed within a publicly funded educational project and allows you to study through videos, exercises, grammar activities, and interactive materials.
The platform uses Moodle and can be used for both independent study and with the support of a teacher.

Learn Bulgarian online from level A1
This course is designed for people who need to start communicating in Bulgarian and progress gradually to level A2.
The content combines explanations, vocabulary, grammar, videos, and practical exercises.
It also includes tools for students to track their progress within the platform.
What does the course include?
The program has 18 learning modules .
Each module contains explanatory materials, videos with subtitles, and exercises related to the topics studied.
In total, the course includes approximately 165 exercises distributed across the different modules.
Is there material Additional?
Yes. The platform includes an electronic workbook with an additional 90 exercises .
It also has an electronic dictionary that can be used as a learning aid.
This allows you to supplement the main lessons with additional practice of vocabulary and language structures.
Can I study on my own?
Yes. The program itself indicates that the video course can be used for self-study. It can also be part of a teacher-led training program.
The Moodle system allows you to track your results and review your progress throughout the course. What levels are available? The material is designed for levels A1 and A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Level A1 is geared towards those starting from a basic knowledge level. Level A2 allows you to develop a greater capacity to understand and use the language in everyday situations. Do I need to register?
